|Fawzia El-Amin (Head of Energy, Natural Resources & Environment)|
One of the experienced Sudanese lawyers with tremendous career history. Upon her graduation from the Faculty of Law University of Khartoum in 1974, she joined the Attorney General’s Chamber (Now the Ministry of Justice) from (1976 – 1991), and was assigned to the civil, criminal and commercial registrations departments. Afterwards, she became a private practicing lawyer and oath commissioner from (1992 – 2001), and by the end of 2001 she rejoined the Ministry of Justice to serve in the legislative and contracts sections, and then seconded to the National Electricity Corporation (NEC) from (2003 – 2010). From (2010 – 2011) she was selected as the head of the translation department at the Ministry of Justice. Upon that, she was appointed as the head of the legal administration in the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity from (2011 – 2016) where she worked alongside the Nuclear Power Generation Unit, and the renewable Energy departments with all the matters concerning contractual negotiations and drafting.
Ms El-Amin was an associated member in the program held in Vienna by the United Nations concerning insolvency out-boundaries in 2010, and she represented Sudanese government in the course of drafting regulations regarding the first Nuclear Power Plant in Sudan which was also held in Vienna in 2012. In addition to representing the authorities in drafting and negotiating contracts with the People’s Republic of China. She is an associated member in the Common Authority of the River Nile since the year 2013. She was also a member in the Pan-Arab Electrical Market where she represented the Sudanese government in reviewing and revising the Electrical interconnection agreements which where sponsored through the Arab League and the World Bank since the year 2012. Currently she’s acting as a member of the English version of Sudanese laws volumes revision committee.
