SCLO has been instructed to advise on the external debt of the Republic of Sudan.
SCLO is currently working on the external debt of the Republic of Sudan in collaboration with Allen & Overy LLP, an international law firm that advises national and multinational corporations, financial institutions, and governments.
The New York Times has reported on November 2019 that Sudan’s foreign debt is at close to USD 60 billion. Leading banks and financial institutions have instructed Allen & Overy to instigate legal proceeding against the government of Sudan and Central Bank of Sudan. SCLO, acting as the Sudanese legal counsel, has collaborated with Allen & Overy, who are representing the international creditors to give their expert legal opinion on the matter.
