Acting as Sudanese Legal Counsel to Allen & Overy, who were representing and advising a consortium of international institutional creditors in proceedings against the Government of Sudan and the Central Bank of Sudan resulting from their sovereign debt default

• Advising entities involved in project finance, including lenders, sponsor organisations, project organisations, and off taker
• Providing counsel on bank guarantees, including  corporate guarantees
• Counselling clients on bank security systems and implementation in compliance with Sudanese law
• Advising on Sudanese Central Bank regulations including international transfer of foreign currency
• Advising clients on debt assignment involving foreign currency and foreign entities
• Rendering legal opinions concerning financial transactions and their compliance with Islamic finance as is required by Sudanese law
• Advising on commodity finance and letters of credit
